The films in this collection are not exactly classics and do not compare with Delon’s best works such as “Le Samourai” and “Mr. Klein”. However, if you are a die-hard Delon fan, you will not be disappointed. Mostly average, some are better than others. 1) “Swimming Pool”. If you are a fan of Romy Schneider, you will not be disappointed. She simply radiates. The spot moves terribly slowly. It’s a obsolete rehash of the “Purple Noon”. 2) “Diabolically Yours”. Funny and outdated. Senta Burger, then current Germain actress, is not in the same league as Romy Schneider. 3) “Widow Courderc”. This is righteous. Almost classic. The film is fine to glimpse at with its natural setting. Suited period details. Gigantic acting abounds. Simone Signoret gives thoughtful, heart-breaking performance. If the ending was not so ridiculous, it would have been a classic. 4) “Gipsy”. An average crime drama. so called B-film. 5) “Notre Histore”. This is an intriguing turn for Delon. He is actually more expressive than usual and shows a wider emotional range here. But overall this stylized film is rather dumb to sit through.

I’ve been watching this action packed series for a few months online and am greatly enjoyed that Funimation is finally releasing this series for us in America in two fraction packages. If you’ve stare the series X/1999 or Shana here’s another improbable anime for your home. The series follows mostly on three characters you have Ayano Kannagi the heiress to the Kannagi clan a family of mystical warriors who control the element of fire to a remarkable degree and are also the holders of a mystical weapon that allows the heir or heiress to elevate their power of fire, Kazuma Yagami Ayano’s cousin and who was once also piece of the Kannagi clan but because his elemental powers were not fire he was considered ragged and after loosing the clan title match against Ayano was banished from the clan but it’s later found out that he’s a great wind user and has arrive succor to Japan to acquire closure with his estranged used clan, and finally Ren Kannagi Kazuma’s younger brother and Ayano’s cousin who like Ayano is a fire user but has the potential to become worthy more great than even he realizes. The series has a nice mixture of action, drama, romance, and comedy(Though episode 12 will definitely be a valid creep maker when you study it) that makes watching the series from inaugurate to execute addictive and moving. While I’ve only heard it subbed which the insist cast are substantial in their roles I’ve found limited clips of the English dubbed cast and they were exquisite obliging too so if you like anime series like D-Gray man, Shana, X/1999, or Elephantine Metal Alchemist here’s another series for you home to accumulate once it’s out…

KnS will entertain most shonen fans, but doesn’t rise above average TV anime. If teen sci-fi/fantasy action series aren’t your type of note, then you will be very disappointed. In either case, the trace is far higher than it should be for this series. Compared to KnS, Shana (Shakugan no Shana), is a masterpiece, and although Shana is one of my accepted shonen series and very involving, I don’t inferior it that high in terms of artistic achievement. Any number of series, both licensed and not, are better than KnS. You can capture the entire series box place of Shana for $50 retail, or $40 easily at discount. Familiar of Zero is also far better (as long as you never, ever turn on the English dub), again available in one box residence for a reasonable impress. Fate/Stay Night can be had for $40, and is again far better.

The rotund list of shows that are higher quality and less expensive to steal would be long, but Shana and Zero compare most closely to the characters and place of KnS. Other flavors of shonen, such as Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha, compare similarly, being a grand better reveal for a worthy lower cost.

I don’t loathe Kaze no Stigma, as I am a fan of such shows. Where someone else would feel it was a destroy of time, I would consider the same about Paradise Kiss or other highly-rated shows in genres that simply don’t appeal to me (romantic drama) . If you like Shana and Zero, you’ll probably savor KnS for what it is. Fair don’t pay more for it than either of those shows if you can wait for the inevitable drastic tag cuts. $100.00 is ridiculous, frankly, and is about what you would have paid for individual volumes with nice art, extras and inserts if the series had been released three years ago in the top-notch anime economy. KnS should be selling for $39.95 for a complete box situation. That would be a handsome asking stamp considering its deplorable in the shonen catalog of anime.

The material covered is a well done overview of the architecture of the 20th century, as seen through the lens of FLW’s life. I found it an unbelievable yarn. There is mighty to learn about architecture here - the history and scenes are incredible. From the early days of the skyscraper, to his domestic work (Pairie Houses), to Falling Water (the transformative part of domestic architecture), the ultimate masterpiece of the Guggenheim - it’s all here and well told, and shown. The commentary by Philip Johnson - a longtime FLW antagonist, but ultimately an admirer, is considerable and poignant.

On a personal designate, I found the life of FLW racy - not in the details or setbacks, but taken for the whole. How many individuals can say their most productive period was after their 70’s?

Bravo to Burns - this is one of his finest works; on one of the best of subjects.

I hope others bask in this DVD as considerable as I did.

I have never really understood the man (frank lloyd wright), leisurely the master teacher he ultimately became…. and in this film I have been profoundly surprised and impacted by his life’s sage.

I would recommend this film to anyone. It is a sensitive and brilliantly made documentary, laced with beethoven’s music throughout, and impeccably built together, frame by frame on film, as Mr. Wright’s buildings were.

As the documentary progressed, ultimately building to a tender yet impactful crescendo, this man’s life’s myth brought tears to my eyes when it was over. Mr. Wright was an improbable human being….despite devastating loses he had to endure,he had the courage and fearlessness to tread a path no one ever dreamed possible, yet he did…. and during at ime where it was almost impossible to be ‘free.’ I loved this film. Please do not miss it.

This movie rules! I’m a spacious fan of the book, and I can say that the movie really does it justice. The whole yarn involves a group of kids, all “losers”, drawn together by a supernatural force to confront an conventional ghastly that takes the obtain of a malignant clown.

Tim Curry was, I reflect, born to play Pennywise the Clown. Sadistic, waddling freak with his doughy, grinning white face, red wet lips stetched as wide as his ears. In his clown construct, he is able to charm the younger kinds, but he becomes the fears of the older ones, taking them down into his sewer dungeon to feed on them. The kids that finally beat the monster, Immense Bill and Haystack and Bev and the rest of the Loser’s Club, manage to force It succor into It’s lair, not tiring,, but nearly mortally wounded….

Driven by a feeding cycle, It rises again decades later, and the Loser’s Club, now forgotten in adulthood, is drawn encourage together to face the monster one final time. This was originally made-for-television, so the movie is only genuine of so remarkable, but I mediate that fact alone gives the movie special merit. The casting was exquisite great dead-on (especially in the case of Pennywise) and the special effects were surprisingly top-notch. Probably the fact that the film makers were incapable of going the hack-and-slash rated-R route helped to improve the suspense and the atmosphere. The book was big, and the movie was mammoth. I would recommend them both. I contemplate that the humble perfection of a classic beneficial versus scandalous sage can sometimes be overlooked. The purity of a yarn in which you can easily lose yourself. And that’s impartial what It is. Two vast thumbs up from me.

This movie I possess was one of the first mini series I have seen by Stephen King. I watched from open to accomplish I was so keen in the kids in this film. Two who are played by common actor’s today Seth Green (Young Richie Tozer), and Jonathan Brandis (Young Bill Denbrough) . In the first half of the film we learn of the Clown (Played by the colossal Tim Curry) and the history with the town of Derry, Maine. We recognize the kids meeting for the first time and the fun they all have. But the serious times comes when they band together to stand up for themselves against a few of the classmates namly Henry Bowers who likes to torment the other kids in the school. They then approach together to earn a circle and defeat the clown/monster. With a promise that if it wasn’t dumb they would all near befriend to ruin it.

In the second fraction of the film we scrutinize whats happened to them career wise and care for life wise. Its a tad slower, but it is definately humorous and has its serious moments as well. The kids all grown up are now played by a colossal cast: Henry Anderson (Richie Tozer), Dennis Christopher (Eddie Kaspbrak), Richard Masur (Stan Uris), Annette O’ Toole (Beverly Marsh), John Ritter (Ben Hascom), Tim Reid (Mike Hanlon), and Richard Thomas as (Bill Denbrough) . Again the second fraction starts off monotonous. But its fun to witness them all near together again. And to try and remember the apt and awful times and defeat the “clown.”

I was very mighty alive to to behold Stephen King exhaust children to absorb in this monster to where the adults couldn’t. It’s also bright to gaze this sort of similarity in some of his other where the children are the key. Which I win really gigantic in a scheme. This movie did; however, really turn me off of clowns. So it does have its amble factor in the movie. I would definately recommend it! Athough the book does give more stout detail and is better, and the book is different in most parts. But for a mini series this was my first adore of Stephen King.

I got the current cramped edition 2 disc area of Manhunter and I have to say I have never been more disapointed with a DVD in my life. First of all the first disc that is supposed to be the theatrical gash of the film is not. Several principal scenes and patches of dialouge have been removed, and unimportant scenes from the directors carve are added in out of context. And to obtain matters worse the cuts are made very crudely, sometimes cutting people off in midsentence.

Then there is the director’s lop on disc 2. Saddly this version was never remastered from the source print so the represent quality of the whole film is that of a deleted scene i.e. worse than VHS. Not to mention that several scenes appear to be taken from brodcast tv as several lines of profanity are crudely dubbed over.

Take my advice if you are a fan of this movie cease away from this poorly produced DVD, as refusing to choose it might be the only design glean Anchor Bay to good this corrupt predicament.

MANHUNTER was a flop when it was released in the mid-1980s, but has enjoyed a much-deserved renaissance in the past few years with the box office success of HANNIBAL and SILENCE OF THE LAMBS. And now, finally, it has been released on DVD for a second chance with audiences.

The debate rages on as to whether MANHUNTER is the best of the trilogy, and you can read numerous postings below about this. Personally, I deem MANHUNTER is sterling because it deals with the detailed investigation of horrific crimes versus the crimes themselves, its villain is noteworthy more unpleasant because he’s portrayed with more humanity, and the tone overall is creepy and serious versus horrific and campy.

If you’re seeing MANHUNTER for the first time and are a fan of the other two films, be forewarned that:

1. This is a crime drama, not a fright movie. And while it is well shot, it is a indecent budget film with production values fair slightly above a TV-movie. But you will be so engrossed in the legend that this won’t matter.

2. It is definitely a film of its time period, with 80s fashions and a MIAMI VICE-type booming soundtrack that tends to interfere with otherwise level-headed and introspective moments. But the music, as with most of the other films directed by Michael Mann, is wonderful, well chosen and progressive (for the mid-1980s) . Even though the film seems dated to some, if we are to believe movies forever by the time periods they were created in, then we might as well terminate going to the cinema.

3. If Hannibal Lector and Anthony Hopkins are one and the same to you, then seeing Brian Cox in the role might be jarring. He plays Lector (spelled “Lecktor” here) with considerable more subtlety than Hopkins, and may disappoint those who are fans of Hopkins’s over-the-top (though palatable) portrayal.

Since I was forewarned about the abominable video transfer on the 2-disc Director’s Cleave, I bought the 1-disc Theatrical Lop, which has all the extras of the venerable. I am very tickled with the transfer I’ve seen. There is some graininess at times, but the characterize is generally attractive with lustrous colors. Probably the best version I’ve seen since I saw it in a theater in the 80s - maybe better. The audio can be muddy in spots, but the soundtrack booms out of the speakers, particularly the worthy Shriekback songs.

There are a couple of scenes on this DVD that I don’t remember seeing before - someone can factual me if I’m scandalous. One involves Will Graham touring the empty home of one of the destroy victims with a accurate estate agent, the other is a treasure scene with his wife in a hotel room. The aged seemed unnecessary, but the latter only heightened the emotional stakes in Will’s pursuit of the killer.

There are a couple of short, but very informative, documentaries at the ruin of this film - one featuring the actors, the other featuring the cinematographer. It was very arresting seeing Tom Noonan (the villain) interviewed, as I’ve never seen him in any other context but this film. There are some colossal nuggets of information for fans of the movie, as well as a collection of movie posters from around the world.

The glaring omission is any input from Michael Mann himself. I, for one, am not as enchanted with running audio commentaries on DVDs, as I feel they tend to prefer away some of the “magic” of the film itself. But it’s too dreadful he didn’t contribute to the docs at the ruin. There is a sense from the actors’ interviews that the crew had had it with Michael Mann toward the ruin, and began walking off the place, leaving a skeleton crew for the final action sequence. Perhaps this has something to do with it.

To sum up, the 1-disc MANHUNTER DVD is probably the best version we’ll ever win of this classic film. Portray and audio are reliable, and the film itself - at least to this viewer - has primitive well. The solving of the crime is so complicated that inform viewings are superb and toothsome. And the extras are very informative without being long and overwhelming. Highly recommended!

Of course, like the cop in “Life” his merry, prankish exterior conceals an iron core of permanent, near-psychotic rage. The Mentalist works with the police agency he works for in order to salvage the serial killer to killed his family, and he has told his boss there, in merry seriousness, that if/when he finds the guy, he will prefer him apart in a method Dexter (as in the HBO series) would care for.

All this is backstory. No spoilers, as I promised. There’s powerful interaction with his boss, her boss, and the three person team that also works with the boss, and they’re all competently played, seemingly aesthetic great credible as detectives.

So both this and “Life” have:

1. radiant actor in the lead role–with “The Mentalist,” Aussie heartthrob Simon Baker, who every woman appears to accept irresistable (according to my wife) .

2. multilayered residence, with an ongoing record arc on top of the case du jour, and evolving relationships among the team members.

3. light and shadow–lots of humorous moments alongside very unlit stuff indeed. In painting this would be called chiaroscuro (deem Rembrandt paintings of interiors illuminated by candles) .

If you like “Life” I’m sure you’ll like “The Mentalist” even if the more race of the mill procedurals (all the CSIs for example) don’t appeal to you. I’d also assign “Bones” in this category FWIW.

And this is about as well-behaved as we can interrogate until Joss Whedon’s next reveal shows up (presumably “Dollhouse” with Eliza Dushku, herself a master of chiaroscuro) .

I am unprejudiced a teenager, and generally not involved in the stuff my parents admire to survey (currently they’re obsessed with “24″), but one evening I decided to decide down with them and check out what they were watching, and it happened to be, “The Mentalist.” It was appreciate at first gawk.

I found myself intrigued immediately by “The Mentalist.” I can’t quite justify it. Something about the exhibit unbiased clicks, and that’s why it’s become so overwhelmingly favorite with us viewers. Simon definitely steals the present, but not only do we worship him, we feel something for Simon’s character. He hides his injure of his family’s slay with a coy, naughty, and cunning face, and though he is all of this, it’s only skin-deep, and in the finale episode, “Red John’s Footsteps”, the shroud is pulled for a brief moment and we peer how aroused and obsessed Jane is with finding Red John, ready to die himself to solve the abominable crimes.

This keeps the audience hungry for the next episode every time one finishes, and not only that. This demonstrate is incredibly rare and fine, because how often do you glean a demonstrate that you worship all the cast members, you like the station, it’s got lots of humor, it’s not plain, and it has an awesome writer? Acknowledge? Hardly ever. Even “Ghost Whisperer” and “CSI” catch tedious, and “The Mentalist” is a cute, quirky, and captivating novel indicate that makes me plunge in worship with Simon all over again whenever his face goes on cloak.

I can’t wait for these DVD’s to near out, because they are definitely worth the retract. I absolutely loved the first season, with hardly ever a dry position, and I unbiased hope that they withhold the second season and any seasons after that as righteous, because I’m telling you, if someone screws this explain up, I will be ready to end. ;P

Here is another comely collection of Crown International Pictures’ drive-in movie madness. You gather eight classic b-movies all lovingly restored using unusual film transfers (with the exception of The Babysitter, which was mastered from PAL tape) . I won’t go into the plots of each film (I figure anyone who is seriously looking at this page already has an appreciation for schlock cinema and can navigate his/her intention to IMDb) but I can express you that the films view ample. For example, Blood Mania’s crisp, wide-screen record looks about a thousand times better than its bulky frame VHS release; there are no scratches or drop-outs and the sound is fabulous.

Again, the quality of these films is astounding and it genuinely seems that whoever is mastering these sets has a staunch treasure for the genre; the transfers are broad and there is always the surprising extra, for example, Van Nuys Blvd has a fantastic commentary track by the film’s director, William Sachs.
